Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are there requirements or prerequisites for any of the courses?

A. The only course that has requirements is the researcher program. In order to attend this program an individual must have previous experience working in or oversight of a BSL-2 laboratory. There are no prerequisites for the other courses presently offered. 

Q. Are there discounts for multiple attendees from the same organization?

A. Yes. We offer a 10% discount if three or more from the same organization register together for one particular training program.

Q. Do you provide off-site training?

A. Yes. We can travel and deliver training for your organization. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for more information.

Q. Do you provide continuing education units?

A. Yes, we provide continuing education units through P.A.C.E from the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science for the week-long Researcher, Operations & Maintenance II, and ANSI Z9.14 courses.  ABSA credential maintenance (CM) units are also offered for those courses.

Q. Are there discounts for government agencies?

A. Yes. Course fees are discounted for employees of government agencies, military, and staff of educational institutions.

Q. Do you offer training for individuals from other countries and are there any limitations?

A. Yes. We have trained individuals from various countries. Foreign travelers are responsible for obtaining their own travel documents.  We do not provide letters of support for travel applications.

Q. What is the duration of the courses?

A. Emergency Management is a 4-6 hour course. Operations and Maintenance Introductory is a 2-day course. Operations and Maintenance Intermediate is a 5-day course. Researcher training is a 5-day course. Researcher Annual Refresher is a 1-day course.  ANSI Z9.14 is a 2 days course.

Q. Do you offer the course materials online?

A. Yes. We will soon have a link on our website for registered attendees to access course materials.

Q. What are your course fees?

A. Prices are quoted upon request and are based on the individual's affiliation.  Please request price quotes using the interest form located on our homepage.

Q. Do UC personnel have to pay the registration fee?

A. No.  All UC personnel can attend courses without having to pay the registration fee.
