MD/PhD student Gianna Fote, Biological Chemistry, is the recipient of the 2018 Dr. Lorna Carlin Scholar Award. The School of Medicine is grateful to Dr. Lorna Carlin for supporting promising graduate student research. Fote is co-advised by professors Joan Steffan & Leslie Thompson.
Brianna Craver, PhD candidate, Biological Chemistry, received an Abstract Achievement Award for her poster at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology, San Diego, CA. She is advised by Dr. Angela Fleischman.
Betty Lai, PhD student, Biological Chemistry, published a first-author paper, "Defective Negative Regulation of Toll-like Receptor Signaling Contributes to Elevated TNF in Myeloproliferative Neoplasm” Blood Advances, December 2018. She is advised by Dr. Angela Fleischman.
Kay Linker, PhD candidate, Anatomy & Neurobiology, co-advised by professors Frances Leslie & Marcelo Wood, received a Public Impact Distinguished Fellowship. Linker investigates the role of the brain’s immune system in adolescent drug use and mechanisms underlying addiction vulnerability.
PhD candidate, Autumn Holmes, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics, will enter the Stanford Postdoctoral Recruitment in Sciences and Medicine (PRISM) program. She is advised by professor Bert Semler.
