Students win in prestigious video competition

UC Irvine fourth-year medical student Raja Narayan and incoming medical student Ronald Sahyouni are two of 15 winners of the MCAT Video Competition, which is sponsored by the Khan Academy, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Association of American Medical Colleges.

The video competition is the first step in the effort to provide free, online resources to help students prepare for the revised Medical College Admission Test that will be administered in 2015.

The winning students will receive an all-expenses-paid weeklong training program facilitated by Khan Academy staff and scholars to create educational tutorials about concepts that will be tested by the new MCAT2015 exam.

Trainees will go on to produce a new collection of tutorials to help undergraduate and pre-med students prepare for health care professions. The UC Irvine Health School of Medicine was the only institution with two winning students. For more information, go to:
